iStock_000051511110_LargeAlthough your pet may not understand the importance of gift-giving this time of the year, he or she certainly deserves to be treated to a little special something this holiday season. Sniffing around for just the right present can be time-consuming, though; so we’ve decided to do some of the legwork for you and compile a list of spot-on pet presents for the holiday season.

Health Matters

Some pet owners want to give the ongoing gift of health to their pets and a great way to do that is with dental care. Some pets don’t mind coming to see us for a dental cleaning experience, which can lengthen life and increase overall wellness. Also, acupuncture, although beneficial year-round, can make a great holiday present for pets unfamiliar to it’s healing and supportive qualities.

Special Pets & Presents

New items may be approached with caution by your pet but, generally speaking, acceptance and enjoyment is inevitable. You might consider one of the following:

  • Gear – If your pet’s collar, leash, or harness is looking a little worse for wear, investing in new gear is a great way to show you care. A new tag or a microchip is a great addition, as well. You may also want to consider rain or snow gear, jackets, sweaters, or booties to keep your pet warm and dry, too.
  • Mealtime – If your pet is still eating and drinking out of the same dishes since his or her early days, consider investing in a water fountain that filters and circulates drinking water. Personalizing a bowl is a nice touch or adding a higher platform that raises the level at which your pet chows down.
  • Catching Zzz’s – Creating a new space for your pet to snooze can be easy, affordable, and a nice complement to your home’s existing decor. Pets enjoy tunnels, cozy bedding, and soft blankets up and off the floor. Cats are especially fond of enclosed, raised, comfortable surfaces, like a hammock stretched across the top of a doorway, or a wall or window-mounted perch.
  • Getting Fancy – Grooming is a lovely way to show your affection. Purchasing a new brush or comb, special pet shampoo or conditioner, or even pet perfume might contribute to your pet’s overall feeling of wellness. Have a professional groomer pamper your pet by clipping nails, treating skin issues, or getting mats out of his or her coat.
  • Treats & Toys – There is no shortage of pet toys on the market designed for every interest or preference. By supplying your pet with the right kind of toys, you are ensuring he or she continues to learn and remains active. You could also find a variety of treats to give your pet or, better yet, make your own using wholesome ingredients for their best health.
